Unless you have recently purchased your home and had a home inspection conducted before purchase, chances are you may not know the true health of your home. If it has been more than 5 years since you have purchased your home, or if you did not have a home inspection done before your recent home purchase you may want to consider having a home maintenance inspection.
We know what you are thinking…. “Why should I have a home inspection done on my home? I am not looking to sell it anytime soon.” During the time that we live in our homes, we tend to overlook or fail to see defects in our home. We also tend to defer minor maintenance issues, which overtime can turn into expensive repairs. Some of these defects or maintenance issues may not even be apparent to you as the homeowner and can only be found by a trained professional. Having a home maintenance inspection will tell you the condition of your home and will bring focus to the areas that need to be improved and repaired immediately to help keep your home in the best shape possible.
During a maintenance inspection you will be informed of what needs immediate attention and about the things that are less urgent but will need your attention in the future. The home inspector is not there to sell you any type of maintenance services and the inspector will not offer to fix any issues your home may have. They are only there to give you unbiased, accurate information about the condition of your home.
